About The Position

The Food Services Associate I supports food service operations, assists with tasks, and helps ensure quality service and problem resolution. The role involves applying basic knowledge and advanced skills or patient care, performing duties that may be complex and non-routine, resolving most issues while referring the most complex issues to a supervisor, and working under general supervision. The position has an impact limited to the department or service line and involves extensive interactions with customers, patients, clients, and clinical teams. Communication commonly occurs with people performing similar or different functions inside or outside the organization. The position is full-time and works day/evening shifts at the Roanoke facility. It is eligible for a $2,000 sign-on bonus under applicable guidelines for external hires only. The role is designated emergency staff during emergency weather conditions and may require travel to other Carilion work sites to meet staffing needs.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED preferred.
No prior experience required.
For employees deemed in charge of departmental operations, SERV-Safe certification or equivalent certification from the Virginia Health Department is required, or the ability to obtain certification within one year of hire.
Effective interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.
