About The Position

The Food Services Associate I supports food service operations, assists with tasks, ensures quality service, and helps resolve problems. The role involves applying basic knowledge and advanced skills or patient care, and duties may be complex and non-routine. The associate resolves most issues and refers the most complex issues to a supervisor. Work is performed under general supervision, with an impact limited to the department or service line. The position involves extensive interactions with customers, patients, clients, and clinical teams, as well as communication with people in similar or different functions inside or outside the organization. The position may require travel to other Carilion work sites to meet staffing needs. It is designated as emergency staff during emergency weather conditions. A $2,000 sign-on bonus is available to eligible external hires under applicable guidelines.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED preferred.
No prior experience required.
Effective interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.
For employees deemed in charge of departmental operations, SERV-Safe certification or equivalent Virginia Health Department certification is required, or the ability to obtain it within one year of hire.
Must be available as emergency staff during emergency weather conditions.
