About The Position

Goodwill Industries of the Southern Rivers is hiring a part-time Retail Associate – Donor Door Greeter for its Phenix City, Alabama retail store. The position averages 20–25 hours per week, with hours fluctuating based on business needs, seasonal changes, and donation volumes. Operating days vary by store location, and the associate must be available to work any shift Monday through Sunday. The associate greets donors, receives and organizes donated goods, provides donation receipts, and maintains accurate records using a handheld device. The role also includes housekeeping, assisting truck drivers with donations, and working in other store areas as requested. Although hired as a Donor Door Greeter, the employee will be cross-trained and expected to learn and work in all areas of the retail operation. Requirements

Must be at least 16 years old.
High school diploma or GED, or enrollment in high school or a GED program.
Basic math skills.
Prior experience in retail or a customer-service-related environment.

Nice To Haves

One year of cash-handling experience.
Warehouse experience.

Responsibilities

Greet donors promptly and efficiently while providing excellent customer service.
Receive donated goods by unloading vehicles and carrying donated items.
Provide receipts to donors and maintain accurate donation records using a handheld device.
Organize donations into bins as they are received to support accurate processing.
Perform general housekeeping and keep the work area neat and clean.
Assist truck drivers with loading and unloading donations.
Work in other areas of the store as requested by the leadership team.
Cross-train and learn and work in all areas of the retail operation.
