About The Position
Aegis Therapies is hiring a CNA/Wellness Instructor in Restorative Care to work with the rehabilitation therapy team at a rehabilitation center, skilled nursing facility, and senior care wellness setting in Hilo, Hawaii. The role focuses exclusively on restorative care and wellness activities, with onsite restorative training provided and no prior restorative experience required. The instructor delivers appropriate wellness, fitness, and exercise programs and assists with restorative care as directed. Responsibilities may include ambulation, transfer training, bed mobility, active and passive range of motion, dressing and grooming, and splint or prosthesis care, with limited or no less desirable tasks often associated with CNA work. The position uses Aegis’s EnerG wellness programs, which take a holistic, individualized, results-driven approach across seven dimensions of wellness. The role collaborates with the therapy team to support patient-centered care and improve patients’ health and well-being.
Requirements
- Current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in the state of practice.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Nice To Haves
- Specialty certification as a personal trainer, exercise specialist, fitness instructor, health and fitness specialist, or in a similar area.
- Background in exercise and activity training with senior populations.
Responsibilities
- Work exclusively with the therapy team to provide knowledge and expertise in delivering appropriate wellness, fitness, and exercise programs.
- Assist in restorative care of patients as directed.
- Perform restorative activities including ambulation, transfer training, bed mobility, active and passive range of motion, dressing and grooming, and splint or prosthesis care.
