About The Position
Aegis Therapies is hiring a CNA/Wellness Instructor in Restorative Care to work with the rehabilitation therapy team in a rehabilitation center, skilled nursing facility, or senior care wellness setting in Hilo, Hawaii. The role provides wellness, fitness, and exercise programs and assists with restorative care as directed. The position has exclusive restorative responsibilities, including ambulation, transfer training, bed mobility, active and passive range of motion, dressing and grooming, and splint or prosthesis care, with limited or no less desirable tasks commonly associated with CNA work. Onsite restorative training is provided; prior restorative experience is not necessary. The position reports to the Director of Rehabilitation / Therapy.
Requirements
- Current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in the state of practice.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Specialty certification as a personal trainer, exercise specialist, fitness instructor, health and fitness specialist, or in a similar area.
- Background in exercise and activity training with senior populations.
Responsibilities
- Work exclusively with the therapy team to provide expertise in appropriate wellness, fitness, and exercise programs.
- Assist in restorative care of patients as directed.
- Support ambulation, transfer training, bed mobility, active and passive range of motion, dressing and grooming, and splint or prosthesis care.
