About The Position

The Restaurant Server provides friendly, attentive dining service to residents and guests in the dining room and at community events. The role involves preparing and maintaining dining areas, taking and delivering orders, ensuring food and beverage quality, responding to requests, and following food safety and sanitation standards. Servers also help maintain a safe and welcoming community environment, attend required training, and participate in the community’s emergency response team. The position is at The Doliver of Tanglewood, an independent living and assisted living community with memory care.

Requirements

• Obtain an accredited food handler certification within 60 days, as required by state guidelines.
• Excellent customer service attitude and ability to interact well with staff, residents, and guests.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED.
• Six months to one year of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the dining room is clean and properly set for meals and events.
• Greet residents and guests and help ensure everyone has a comfortable place to sit.
• Take food orders, communicate them to kitchen staff, and deliver meals promptly.
• Check order accuracy and food quality and presentation.
• Respond promptly to resident and guest requests.
• Pour and refill drinks in a timely manner.
• Follow food handling, safety, and sanitation standards.
• Set tables, clear dirty dishes, dispose of waste, and restock inventory.
• Remove walkers from the dining room for safety and return them immediately after meals.
• Provide warm, considerate service that helps residents and guests feel valued.
• Learn the menu and explain selections to residents and guests.
• Maintain appropriate appearance, cleanliness, and personal hygiene in accordance with company policies.
• Attend required in-service training sessions.
• Participate as an active member of the community’s emergency response team.
• Take on additional responsibilities as needed.
