About The Position

United Security, Inc. is hiring a full-time Armed Security Officer for locations in Stamford and Danbury, Connecticut. The position is scheduled for 39 hours per week: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 7:15 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. in Stamford, and Thursday from 8:45 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. in Danbury. The wage is $28.60 per hour, and the posting advertises a $750 sign-on bonus. Part-time flexible armed positions are also available. The officer monitors pedestrian traffic, patrols premises, helps maintain the safety of employees, patients, and clients, uses oral de-escalation when needed, and writes daily incident reports. Candidates must meet the stated experience and licensing requirements and be able to remain alert and work in high-pedestrian-traffic environments. The position reports to the Manager. Requirements

At least 3 years of law enforcement, corrections, or active/retired military experience; the qualifications section also states 3 years of law enforcement or active military experience, or 5 years of armed security experience.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Connecticut carry permit.
Connecticut armed security license.
Connecticut Guard Card.
Connecticut Blue Card.
Ability to stand for up to 8 hours.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to stay alert.
Ability to work in high-pedestrian-traffic environments.
Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English.

Responsibilities

Stay very alert.
Monitor pedestrian traffic in and out of the facility.
Frequently patrol the premises to maintain the safety of employees, patients, and clients.
Use oral de-escalation when needed.
Write daily reports of incidents that may occur.
