About The Position

The Restaurant Server is an essential member of the Food & Beverage team at Four Seasons Hotel Minneapolis, serving the seasonal Riva/Nordic Village outlet. The restaurant operates as Riva Terrace Restaurant & Bar in spring and summer and Nordic Village in late fall and winter. Servers create memorable dining experiences for guests and residents by providing exceptional, anticipatory service and demonstrating knowledgeable understanding of menu items and preparation methods.

Requirements

At least 2–3 years of Food & Beverage experience and previous experience as a server.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, large-team environment.
Ability to stand for up to 8 hours per day and lift up to 50 pounds.
Flexibility to work weekday, weekend, and holiday shifts.
Ability to carry and balance a tray.
Ability to accurately process cash and credit card transactions.
Ability to multitask in a high-volume, demanding environment.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle difficult situations and guests.
Reading, writing, and oral proficiency in English.
TIPS and ServSafe certification.
Valid U.S. work authorization.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of Minneapolis and surrounding areas is highly desirable but not required.
Preferred experience in a luxury hotel or resort.

Responsibilities

Take guest orders and describe food and beverage menu items, including their origin, taste, and preparation methods.
Communicate orders and special requests to the kitchen and bar through the hotel’s point-of-sale system, and coordinate food and beverage timing.
Check completed orders against the guest’s original order and deliver items promptly while ensuring proper food quality.
Anticipate guest needs, assess satisfaction, offer suggestions, and respond promptly and appropriately to concerns and requests.
Adapt service to guests, international travelers, and building residents to create customized experiences.
Accurately close guest checks, process cash and credit card payments, and settle voided checks or complimentary meals properly.
Break down, clean, and set up tables and chairs.
Work harmoniously and professionally with coworkers and supervisors.
Assist with duties in other Food & Beverage areas when needed, including during heavy volume or staff absence.
