About The Position

As a Kō Server at Fairmont Kea Lani, you will provide inspired food and beverage service that connects guests with cuisine inspired by the resort’s diverse culture and island home. You will act as a hospitality ambassador, using detailed menu knowledge, vivid descriptions, and impeccable service to create memorable guest experiences. The position is part-time and permanent, with an hourly rate of $16.00. Employees work varying schedules, including weekends and holidays, to meet the needs of the hotel.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent and/or vocational training.
• At least two years of serving experience in a high-volume restaurant.
• TB Clearance.
• Maui County Liquor Card.
• Food Safety Certification or ServSafe Certification.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States; the position does not offer work visa sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

• Serving experience in a luxury hotel environment.
• Previous fine dining experience.
• Wine knowledge.
• Previous experience in a four-diamond hotel environment.

Responsibilities

• Confirm station assignment.
• Complete the daily opening checklist and assigned duties.
• Follow the Fairmont Kea Lani sequence of service, including welcoming guests, introducing the venue, setting tables, taking and entering orders in the POS, delivering beverages and food, maintaining and bussing tables, presenting checks, and resetting tables.
• Maintain full knowledge of menu items, garnishes, ingredients, and preparation methods.
• Bring passion to the guest experience and look for ways to emotionally engage guests.
• Participate in monthly departmental sales promotions.
• Follow State of Hawaii and Environmental Health Consultancy food-handling safety standards.
• Organize time to complete side work according to shift demands.
• Provide engaging, personalized, timely, and efficient service while maintaining an atmosphere of aloha spirit.
