About The Position

The Restaurant Dishwasher keeps the restaurant clean and organized so guests receive food and beverage service that meets Neiman Marcus standards. The role focuses on maintaining dish, trash, and floor areas; operating and maintaining the dish machine; washing kitchenware; assisting with kitchen preparation and cleaning; and following health and sanitation standards. The position requires standing, bending, climbing stairs, and lifting and carrying up to 35 pounds. Scheduling depends on business needs and includes evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Keep dish, trash, and floor areas clean and organized to high health and kitchen standards.
• Check that dish machine chemicals are filled and ready, use the machine correctly, keep chemical testers on hand, and report malfunctions to the Restaurant Manager or Executive Chef.
• Use sanitizing materials correctly.
• Check trash periodically and remove it when full.
• Organize the dish area and solutions for pots, pans, sinks, and silver.
• Maintain a steady pace washing pots, pans, dishes, flatware, and glassware.
• Exercise caution when handling breakable dishes and glassware.
• Keep floors free of spills, grease, and general trash.
• Assist with preparation and additional cleaning throughout the kitchen as needed.
• Maintain professional relationships with line cooks, coworkers, the chef, and front-of-the-house staff.
• Uphold health and sanitation standards set by Neiman Marcus, the local Health Department, and third-party sanitation auditors.
