About The Position

At Four Seasons Residence Club Aviara, the Bartender provides Residence Club Owners, guests, and servers with quick and efficient beverage service and maintains a complete working knowledge of all products served by the bar. The role creates and innovates drink recipes, maintains a well-rounded beverage menu, and ensures consistency in drink preparation. The Bartender greets and assists guests, recommends and serves beverages, processes payments, manages bar inventory and supplies, and keeps the bar clean and sanitized. The position also supports beverage menu planning and recipe development, practices responsible alcohol service, and responds appropriately to emergencies and safety situations.

Requirements

Reading, writing, and oral proficiency in English.
1–2 years of bartending and/or related food and beverage serving experience.
Excellent knowledge of wines, spirits, and mixed drinks.
CPR certification.
Must be at least 21 years of age.

Nice To Haves

Responsible Beverage Service certification and San Diego County Food Handlers certification; not required upon hire.

Responsibilities

Maintain complete knowledge of menu items, ingredients, and preparation.
Greet Owners and guests promptly and courteously, using eye contact, a smile, and good posture.
Determine beverage preferences; make recommendations; take and confirm orders; note special needs or requests from servers using Micros; and verify completed orders against the original order.
Support Food and Beverage management in planning beverage menus, including cocktails, wine, craft beer, and non-alcoholic offerings, and assist with developing cocktail recipes and specials.
Select and mix ingredients, garnish glasses, and serve beverages as ordered.
Handle money and maintain an accurate Residence Club bank float.
Requisition, pick up, verify, and stock liquor, wine, beer, juices, soft drinks, and food items used in bar areas, storerooms, and coolers.
Complete bar inventory with the Food and Beverage Manager, Purchasing Manager, and Assistant Director of Finance.
Cut fruit and prepare beverage garnishes daily.
Process all Micros payments accurately and promptly while maintaining guest confidentiality.
File closing paperwork, sort checks by payment type and transaction date, and immediately report lost checks, including walk-outs and voids, to a Food and Beverage manager.
Keep the bar neat and tidy; clear dishes and glassware; and continuously sanitize surfaces and bar equipment.
Practice responsible alcohol service in accordance with state and local laws and address potentially intoxicated, disruptive, or undesirable guests.
Respond properly to Residence Club emergencies and safety situations.
Perform other tasks as assigned or necessary by Residence Club management.
