About The Position

Consumer Direct Care Network is recruiting a compassionate and experienced Respite Provider to support an energetic teenage boy with special needs in Wausau, Wisconsin. The provider will be responsible for the teen’s safety and well-being while giving the main caregiver time for self-care. The teen enjoys outdoor activities, carnivals and fairs, music, playgrounds, and swimming or water play.

The position pays $17.66 per hour for up to 20 hours per week. The regular schedule includes Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 3:30–6:30 p.m., plus Saturdays and Sundays from 1–7 p.m. for two to three weekends per month. Additional weekend backup coverage may be available. Scheduling is flexible.

If hired by a Member or their Managing Party, that person or entity—not Consumer Direct Care Network—will be the legal employer of record and will have sole authority to hire or dismiss the provider. Consumer Direct Care Network assists with recruiting Direct Care Workers.

Requirements

• Be authorized to work in the United States.
• Pass a criminal and caregiver background check.
• Have a valid driver’s license, a reliable vehicle, and auto insurance.
• Have experience working with non-verbal teens with autism.
• Be detail-oriented and prepared to give the teen full attention.
• Be able to remain active, move quickly, and keep up with the teen.

Responsibilities

• Provide constant one-to-one supervision.
• Maintain awareness of and support the teen’s safety.
• Help maintain the teen’s routine, including daily hygiene reminders or assistance.
• Accompany the teen on community outings.
• Prepare meals and snacks.
• Provide transportation to community outings and appointments.
