About The Position

Provide respite care for a young boy in or around Bloomer, Wisconsin, supporting the family and helping the child remain in his own home. The child enjoys learning how things work, hunting and fishing, sports, outdoor activities, board games, and video games. The role involves creating a fun, engaging, and safe environment, building trust and connection, and adapting to the child's needs. Care takes place in the home and occasionally in the community. The schedule is approximately 10 hours per week, mostly on weekdays, with some overnight care available. Scheduling is flexible and can be coordinated with the family. Compensation is $14.13 per hour and $200 or more per overnight. The Member or Managing Party is the legal employer if hired; Consumer Direct Care Network assists with recruiting and is not the employer of record.

Requirements

• Valid driver's license.
• Reliable transportation.
• Must pass a background check.
• Friendly, reliable, and enthusiastic.
• Patient and understanding, especially when children have negative behaviors.
• Flexible and able to change gears quickly.
• Comfortable working in a home setting and occasionally in the community.
• Able to maintain a fun, engaging, and safe environment.
• Values connection with children and understands the importance of building trust.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in caregiving, child care, or respite is preferred but not required.
