Provide respite care for a child in the child’s home, with occasional community outings such as visits to parks or walks. The role gives the child’s primary caregivers a short break while helping the child feel safe, supported, and engaged. The provider will build a positive relationship with the child, encourage independence in a safe and supportive environment, and provide care primarily at home. The schedule is approximately 16 hours per month, mostly on weekends. Pay is $14.13 per hour. If hired by a Member or their Managing Party, that Member or Managing Party is the legal employer and has sole authority to hire or dismiss the Direct Care Worker; Consumer Direct Care Network assists with recruiting.
