About The Position

The Respiratory Therapy Apprentice works under the direction of a licensed Respiratory Therapist. The Respiratory Therapy Apprentice is responsible for maintaining an appropriate level of equipment in the various respiratory work areas and assisting the Respiratory Therapists with various procedures and tasks, as directed. The Respiratory Therapy Apprentice may be responsible for performing multiple duties that require an expertise in the assembly, transport, disinfection, calibration and troubleshooting of respiratory related equipment.

Requirements

• Actively enrolled in CoARC accredited RT program
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association (within 90 days of hire)
• 18 years or older
• Graduated High School or possess a GED
• Willing to attend Kalamazoo Valley Community College, Ivy Tech Community College, or Muskegon Community College

Nice To Haves

• Exercise Science Degree and willing to complete one and a half or two additional years of schooling
• Associate in Science degree
• Completed some Science Courses during High School or Post High School
