About The Position

The Respiratory Therapist provides compassionate respiratory care to chronic, critically ill patients in a critical illness recovery hospital specializing in inpatient post-ICU services and extended healing and recovery. The role is per diem, with 12-hour night shifts, and is based in Miami, Florida. Compensation is $44 per hour, with a $6,250 sign-on bonus and night and weekend shift differentials. The hospital offers an extensive orientation program and the possibility of future full-time opportunities. Part-time and per-diem employees may qualify for 401(k) based on working 1,000 hours within their first anniversary or subsequent calendar year.

Requirements

• Possess an active CRT or RRT credential from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) or state equivalent.
• Provide proof of graduation: college transcript or diploma preferred, or high school transcript or diploma, or GED.
• Possess Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the start date.
• Hold current state licensure.
• Have ACLS certification upon hire; agency respiratory therapists must have ACLS by their first shift.

• One year of related experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients and recommend an appropriate treatment plan.
• Provide respiratory care to patients with critical and complex medical and surgical conditions.
• Perform insertion and removal of endotracheal tubes.
• Promote continuous quality improvement.
• Teach and counsel patients and families.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
