About The Position

The Registered Respiratory Therapist performs respiratory treatment modalities in accordance with established policies and procedures and communicates relevant information to support continuity of care. The role delivers and delegates respiratory care to inpatient and outpatient populations, using clinical knowledge and sound judgment. The therapist documents observations and assessments accurately and promptly, collaborates across disciplines to facilitate care, and seeks knowledge about patients’ conditions, diseases, and treatments to inform care, documentation, and team conferences.

Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent.
Graduate of an AMA-approved respiratory therapy program.
Registered through the NBRC.
Licensed in Pennsylvania or holding a valid temporary license, and registered as a Registered Respiratory Therapist.
Certified in BLS.

Responsibilities

Perform respiratory treatment modalities in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Communicate appropriate information to support continuity of care.
Deliver and delegate respiratory care to inpatients and outpatients using knowledge and sound judgment.
Document precise and specific observations through Focus Charting and patient assessments, and complete forms accurately and on time, including flow sheets and e-MARs.
Identify and appropriately use a multidisciplinary approach to facilitate care delivery.
Seek knowledge about patients’ conditions, disease entities, and treatments, and apply it to patient care, documentation, and team conferences.
