About The Position

Select Specialty Hospital is a critical illness recovery hospital providing inpatient post-ICU services to chronic, critically ill patients who need extended healing and recovery. Respiratory Therapists play a central role in providing compassionate, high-quality treatment to patients during vulnerable periods. This per-diem/PRN position is located in Danville, Kentucky, with 12-hour shifts available on days and nights. Compensation is $40 per hour, plus shift differentials for night and weekend shifts. The hospital provides an extensive orientation program, and the role may offer potential opportunities to move into a full-time position. Part-time and per-diem employees may qualify for 401(k) participation after reaching 1,000 hours within their first anniversary or a subsequent calendar year.

Requirements

• Possess an active CRT or RRT credential from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) or state equivalent.
• Provide proof of graduation: college transcript or diploma preferred; high school transcript or diploma or GED accepted.
• Possess Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the start date.
• Hold current state licensure.
• Obtain ACLS upon hire; agency respiratory therapists must have ACLS by their first shift.

Nice To Haves

• One year of related experience is preferred.
• College transcript or diploma is preferred as proof of graduation.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients and recommend appropriate treatment plans.
• Provide respiratory care to patients with critical and complex medical and surgical conditions.
• Insert and remove endotracheal tubes.
• Promote continuous quality improvement.
• Teach and counsel patients and families.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
