About The Position

The Registered Respiratory Therapist performs respiratory treatment modalities in accordance with established policies and procedures and communicates information needed to support continuity of care. The therapist delivers and delegates respiratory care to inpatients and outpatients, applying knowledge and sound judgment. The role includes documenting patient observations and assessments accurately and promptly, completing required forms, and collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to facilitate care. The position is described as per diem, part time, with 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.; the posting also separately describes it as full-time night shift.

Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent.
Graduate of an AMA-approved respiratory therapy program.
Registered through the NBRC.
Licensed in Pennsylvania or holding a valid temporary license.
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
Certified in BLS.

Responsibilities

Perform respiratory treatment modalities in conformance with established policies and procedures.
Communicate appropriate information to support continuity of care.
Deliver and delegate respiratory care to inpatients and outpatients using knowledge and sound judgment.
Document precise and specific observations through Focus Charting and patient assessments, and complete forms accurately and timely, including flow sheets and e-MARs.
Identify and appropriately use a multidisciplinary approach to facilitate care delivery.
Seek knowledge about patients’ conditions, diseases, or treatments and reflect it in patient care, documentation, and team conferences.
