About The Position

The Respiratory Therapist provides respiratory care to critically ill patients in a critical illness recovery hospital specializing in inpatient post-ICU care for chronic, critically ill patients requiring extended healing and recovery. The role involves compassionate care for patients with critical and complex medical and surgical conditions. This is a per diem position in Miami, Florida, working 12-hour night shifts. Compensation is $44 per hour, with a $6,250 sign-on bonus and night and weekend shift differentials. Part-time and per-diem employees may qualify for 401(k) eligibility after reaching 1,000 hours within their first anniversary or subsequent calendar year. Extensive orientation is provided, and strong performance may lead to potential full-time opportunities.

Requirements

• Possess an active CRT or RRT credential from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) or state equivalent.
• Provide proof of graduation: college transcript or diploma (preferred), or high school transcript or diploma, or GED.
• Possess Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the start date.
• Hold current state licensure.
• Have ACLS certification upon hire; agency respiratory therapists must have ACLS by their first shift.

Nice To Haves

• One year of related experience is preferred.
• College transcript or diploma is preferred as proof of graduation.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients and recommend an appropriate treatment plan.
• Provide respiratory care to patients with critical and complex medical and surgical conditions.
• Perform insertion and removal of endotracheal tubes.
• Promote continuous quality improvement.
• Teach and counsel patients and families.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
