About The Position

Select Specialty Hospital is a critical illness recovery hospital providing inpatient post-ICU care to chronically and critically ill patients who need extended healing and recovery. Respiratory Therapists provide compassionate respiratory care to patients with critical and complex medical and surgical conditions. This is a per-diem/PRN Tier 1 position in Cleveland, Ohio, scheduled for three 12-hour shifts every six weeks, with compensation of $45 per hour.

Requirements

• Must possess an active CRT or RRT credential from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) or state equivalent.
• Proof of graduation is required: college transcript/diploma (preferred), or high school transcript/diploma or GED.
• Possess Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the start date.
• Current state licensure is required.
• ACLS is required within six months of hire; PRN staff must have ACLS upon hire.

Nice To Haves

• One year of related experience is preferred.
• College transcript/diploma is preferred as proof of graduation.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients and recommend an appropriate treatment plan.
• Provide respiratory care to patients with critical and complex medical and surgical conditions.
• Perform insertion and removal of endotracheal tubes.
• Promote continuous quality improvement.
• Teach and counsel patients and families.
