About The Position

Select Specialty Hospital is a critical illness recovery hospital providing inpatient post-ICU services to chronically and critically ill patients who need extended healing and recovery. Respiratory Therapists provide compassionate care to patients with critical and complex medical and surgical conditions. This per diem/PRN Tier 1 position is located in Cleveland, Ohio, and is scheduled for three 12-hour shifts per six weeks. Compensation is $45 per hour.

Requirements

• Must possess an active CRT or RRT credential from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) or a state equivalent.
• Proof of graduation is required: college transcript or diploma (preferred), or high school transcript or diploma, or GED.
• Must possess Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the start date.
• Current state licensure is required.
• ACLS is required within six months of hire; PRN staff must have ACLS upon hire.

Nice To Haves

• One year of related experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients and recommend an appropriate treatment plan.
• Provide respiratory care to patients with critical and complex medical and surgical conditions.
• Perform insertion and removal of endotracheal tubes.
• Promote continuous quality improvement.
• Teach and counsel patients and families.
