About The Position

Select Specialty Hospital Ann Arbor is a critical illness recovery hospital located on the 7th floor of Trinity Health Ann Arbor Hospital. The hospital provides inpatient post-ICU care to chronic, critically ill patients who need extended healing and recovery. Respiratory Therapists provide compassionate care to patients with critical and complex medical and surgical conditions.

This is a PRN/per-diem position, with day and night shifts available. Shift hours are 7:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m. or 7:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m. The pay rate is $42.00 per hour, and the position offers a $5,000 sign-on bonus and competitive night and weekend shift differentials.

The hospital offers an extensive orientation program and the possibility of potential full-time opportunities based on demonstrated skills and dedication. Part-time/per-diem employees may qualify for 401(k) participation after reaching 1,000 hours within their first anniversary or subsequent calendar year, and have access to the employee assistance program.

Requirements

• Possess an active CRT or RRT credential from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) or state equivalent.
• Provide proof of graduation: college transcript or diploma preferred, or high school transcript or diploma or GED.
• Possess Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the start date.
• Hold current state licensure.
• Hold ACLS certification upon hire; agency respiratory therapists must have ACLS by their first shift.

Nice To Haves

• One year of related experience is preferred.
• College transcript or diploma as proof of graduation is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients and recommend an appropriate treatment plan.
• Provide respiratory care to patients with critical and complex medical and surgical conditions.
• Perform insertion and removal of endotracheal tubes.
• Promote continuous quality improvement.
• Teach and counsel patients and families.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
