Respiratory Therapist - Per Diem
About The Position
The Respiratory Therapist evaluates and treats patients with breathing disorders, performs lab functions, and assumes primary responsibility for respiratory care treatments. The role integrates the hospital’s mission and “Guiding Principles” into daily practice. The position is at Rehabilitation Hospital of Southern California in Rancho Mirage, California, an inpatient rehabilitation facility serving the Coachella Valley and Southern California. The hospital provides rehabilitative care for patients recovering from strokes, brain and spinal cord injuries, orthopedic surgeries, and other serious conditions. Weekday and weekend hours are available.
Requirements
- Current state license as a Respiratory Therapist.
- Current CPR Certification.
- Knowledge of clinical operations and procedures.
- General computer skills, including data entry, word processing, email, and record management.
- Good judgment, initiative, problem-solving, decision-making, prioritizing, and organizational skills.
- Effective organizational and time-management skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain proper levels of confidentiality.
- Ability to work closely and professionally with others.
- Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection-control standards.
Nice To Haves
- One year of recent experience in an acute care setting is preferred.
