About The Position
PAM Health is hiring a Respiratory Care Practitioner for its new Aiken rehabilitation hospital. The practitioner cares for a diverse patient population, including chronically and critically ill patients who may require extended hospital care. The role performs routine therapy, diagnostic, and emergency cardiopulmonary procedures; maintains equipment in working order; and provides phlebotomy and basic laboratory testing as required or requested. Prior inpatient hospital experience is welcomed, as is a commitment to learn.
Requirements
- Must be certified or licensed in the state where the hospital is located to practice respiratory care.
- Must possess and maintain current BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Blood gas licensure is required if employed in Nevada.
- For hospitals that perform arterial punctures and/or run blood gases, at least a high school diploma is required.
Nice To Haves
- At least one year of clinical respiratory experience is preferred.
- An associate degree is preferred for hospitals that perform arterial punctures and/or run blood gases.
- Prior inpatient hospital experience, or a desire and commitment to learn.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine therapy, diagnostic, and emergency cardiopulmonary procedures for hospital patients.
- Maintain respiratory care equipment in working order.
- Provide phlebotomy and basic laboratory testing as required or requested.
