About The Position

Rite of Passage is hiring a Residential Supervisor at San Pasqual Academy-STRTP in Escondido, California. San Pasqual Academy is located on 238 acres in rural San Pasqual Valley and has school facilities and recreational amenities, including classrooms, an auditorium, a gym, a cafeteria, and sports areas. Residential staff and house parents mentor and tutor students, teach independent living and family living skills, encourage exploration of interests and participation in sports and recreation, and help students explore career and job opportunities.

The position provides in-person supervision of youth and supports their physical, personal, and health needs through individual counseling and behavioral, social, physical, and educational skill development. The Residential Supervisor helps maintain a supportive atmosphere, monitors and documents student behavior and activities, participates in educational and recreational programming, and collaborates with professional staff on student treatment-plan goals. The stated schedule is Monday through Friday, 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. Starting pay is $26.40 per hour.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of experience working with at-risk youth in a similar position, or at least 60 hours of college education in a directly related field of study.
• One year of supervisory experience.
• At least 21 years of age.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check, drug screen, physical, and TB test.
• Ability to pass a search of the child abuse central registry.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person supervision of youth and help ensure their safety.
• Provide for each student's physical, personal, and health needs through individual counseling and behavioral, social, physical, and educational skill development.
• Create a supportive atmosphere that meets students' needs.
• Monitor and document student behaviors and activities.
• Participate in and assist with educational, social, athletic, and recreational activities.
• Collaborate with professional staff to establish and/or meet each student's treatment-plan goals.
