About The Position

The Residential Service Plumber performs residential plumbing service and installation work and serves as a Responsible Managing Employee (RME) on the company’s California C-36 Plumbing Contractor license. The role has potential opportunities to take on a lead position as the company’s Bay Area division expands. The employee exercises direct supervision and control of plumbing operations to support compliance with CSLB requirements and local codes. Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.

Requirements

• Active California C-36 Plumbing Contractor license in good standing with the CSLB.
• Able to serve as an RME through permanent, full-time employment of at least 32 hours per week, and not currently qualifying another contractor’s license; if currently doing so, willingness to change who the license qualifies.
• At least 4 years of journey-level residential plumbing experience.
• Insurable driver with minimal to no motor vehicle violations within the last 3–5 years.
• Current, valid Washington driver's license; an exception may be made for candidates with an out-of-state license if they agree to obtain the correct state license within 30 days of offer acceptance.
• At least 3 years of driving experience.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen after a conditional offer, in accordance with applicable laws.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technical information clearly to customers.
• Leadership ability and interest in growing into a lead role.
• Basic computer proficiency, including mobile applications, CRM systems, and dispatch software.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends as needed.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically in the field.

• Commitment to ongoing training and professional development.

Nice To Haves

• California Home Improvement Salesperson (HIS) registration, or willingness to obtain it.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and install residential plumbing systems, including water heaters, fixtures, drains, and water and gas lines, in accordance with code and company standards.
• Serve as an RME on the company’s C-36 license, exercising direct supervision and control of plumbing operations to ensure compliance with CSLB requirements and local codes.
• Obtain permits and coordinate inspections as required.
• Present clear, accurate, and professional solutions to customers, including repair and replacement options and written estimates.
• Complete jobs referred through the company’s home improvement retail partners in line with partner service standards.
• Accurately document service activities, estimates, and customer interactions in company systems.
• Help build the Bay Area plumbing division, including training and mentoring technicians and developing field processes.
• Maintain the company vehicle, tools, and inventory in clean, organized, and safe condition.
• Wear company-provided uniforms and steel or composite toe work boots during the workday.
