Residential Sales Representative

Distro•Baltimore, MD

About The Position

Abbey Fence & Deck Company is seeking motivated, coachable, customer-focused Residential Sales Representatives to conduct scheduled in-home and on-site estimate appointments and help homeowners choose fencing and decking solutions. This is not a cold-calling or door-to-door prospecting role; the company provides leads and estimate opportunities. Representatives assess customer needs and property conditions, take measurements, educate homeowners, prepare accurate estimates, present recommended solutions, and close profitable business. They own the customer relationship from the initial appointment through the start of installation, including follow-up, detailed project documentation, technical explanations, and coordination with production and warehouse teams. Previous fence or deck sales experience is not required. The company emphasizes character, work ethic, communication, coachability, critical thinking, comfort with numbers, and motivation to succeed in a commission-based environment. New representatives receive $1,000 per week during the approved training-pay period, after which compensation transitions to a 100% commission model. Commission is generally 10% of the pre-tax project total, with estimated annual earnings of approximately $60,000–$150,000+, depending on performance and other factors. Employees may participate in company benefit programs after a 90-day probationary period. This is an in-person, field-based position serving Baltimore City and surrounding areas across central and northern Maryland. Representatives travel to customer properties, conduct consultations, measure project areas, prepare and send estimates, follow up with prospective customers, visit projects when needed, and coordinate with internal teams. The schedule is Monday through Friday, typically 9:00 AM–5:00 PM or 9:00 AM–6:00 PM depending on appointments and customer needs; weekend coverage is not currently required.
