About The Position

The Residential Group Home Program Director helps adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities achieve their desired quality of life in their homes and community programs. The role oversees one Residential Group Home, three Residential Apartment Programs, and a Day Program serving about 35 individuals, and supervises a Program Manager for each of the three locations. The Director works with Program Managers and Direct Support Professionals to support residents’ daily needs, skills, relationships, and well-being.

Requirements

At least four years of experience working with the intellectual and developmental disabilities population.
Strong caregiving skills focused on supporting individuals with developmental disabilities.
Excellent communication skills for interacting with individuals and their families, program managers, direct support staff, and State agency representatives.
Ability to assist with activities of daily living and provide care.
Willingness to pass a background investigation.
Patience, understanding, creativity, enthusiasm, and willingness to learn and adapt in a caregiving environment.

Basic knowledge of first aid and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

Supervise and maintain schedules for Program Managers and direct support professionals.
Monitor and supervise residents’ finances.
Foster positive working relationships with residents’ family members, guardians, and support teams.
Facilitate medical and psychiatric appointments.
Oversee program contract compliance, including operations, employee training, and documentation.
Work with the Regional Director to adjust the schedule.
Interact actively with individuals and participate in activities.
Support individuals with social and life skills.
Assist in maintaining a clean and welcoming environment.
Complete daily documentation.
