Residential Gate Technician - Experienced or Trainee
About The Position
Overhead Door Company of Atlanta, a DH Pace Company, is hiring experienced or trainee Residential Gate Technicians to work across metro Atlanta. Technicians service, repair, and install openers on residential automatic gate systems for homeowners. Candidates with construction, electrical, welding, or related mechanical experience can apply that background to the role; mechanically inclined candidates new to gates can be trained. New technicians initially ride with experienced technicians and learn before working independently. The position offers paid training, a path to running calls independently, advancement opportunities, and overtime availability. Pay is based on experience, with top pay for experienced technicians. A company vehicle and cell phone are provided after training.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of experience in construction, electrical work, or a related mechanical field; experienced gate technicians are encouraged to apply, and training is available for candidates new to gates.
- Basic electrical knowledge.
- Ability to lift 75 pounds overhead.
- Valid driver's license.
- Friendly, professional, and reliable customer manner.
Nice To Haves
- Welding experience is preferred.
- More electrical experience is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Service and repair a wide range of automatic gate systems, working independently after completing training.
- Troubleshoot complete systems using mechanical and electrical knowledge, including telephone entry, operators, accessories, rollers, and drive mechanisms.
- Install and replace gate openers and operators.
- Explain repairs and pricing clearly to homeowners and arrive within scheduled appointment windows.
- Complete job paperwork accurately and on time.
- Work safely at all times.
