About The Position

El Paso Disposal, a Waste Connections company, is hiring a safety-driven Local Residential Driver in El Paso, Texas. The driver operates a garbage truck on assigned residential routes to collect and dispose of solid waste, serves assigned customers, and provides courteous, professional customer service. The work includes vehicle inspections and physically demanding tasks, sometimes without a helper, and takes place outdoors in varying weather conditions around moving equipment, fumes, vibration, and moderate noise.

Requirements

Valid Class A or B CDL with at least an air brakes endorsement.
Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in English.
Basic knowledge of truck components and ability to complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
Ability to perform strenuous physical work, including lifting, pushing, and pulling objects weighing over 50 pounds.
Follow required safety precautions while working around moving mechanical equipment.

Nice To Haves

Two years of driving experience preferred.
Waste industry experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Safely operate a garbage truck on assigned residential routes to collect solid waste.
Read route sheets and serve customers assigned by the dispatcher.
Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, including checking fluids, tires, and safety equipment.
Perform physically demanding work, including loading and unloading, sometimes without a helper.
Operate hydraulic hand controls to lift and load refuse.
Dispose of collected waste at designated facilities.
Provide courteous, professional service to customers.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
