About The Position
El Paso Disposal, a Waste Connections company, is hiring a safety-driven Local Residential Driver in El Paso, Texas. The driver operates a garbage truck on assigned residential routes to collect and dispose of solid waste, while providing courteous, professional customer service. The role involves vehicle inspections and strenuous physical work, sometimes without a helper, and is performed outdoors in varying weather conditions around moving equipment.
Requirements
- Valid Class A or B CDL with air brakes endorsement at minimum.
- Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in English.
- Basic knowledge of truck components and the ability to complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
Nice To Haves
- Two years of driving experience preferred.
- Waste industry experience preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a garbage truck on assigned residential routes to collect solid waste.
- Read route sheets and service customers assigned by the dispatcher.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, including checking fluids, tires, and safety equipment.
- Perform physically demanding work, including loading and unloading, sometimes without a helper.
- Operate hydraulic hand controls to lift and load refuse.
- Dispose of collected waste at designated facilities.
- Provide courteous, professional service to customers.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
