The Local Route Driver loads galley equipment onto a truck, drives it to aircraft at a local airport, and unloads equipment. The role includes loading galleys according to customer guidelines, removing dirty equipment and trash, and placing them in designated areas at local facilities. All work must follow customer guidelines and comply with safety and sanitation regulations. Drivers interact with airline representatives at aircraft, follow directions, work as part of the Transportation team, and complete paperwork and related administrative duties. Management may assign additional duties as needed. The position requires flexibility because assigned schedules and days off may fluctuate to meet production needs, industry requirements, peak-season demands, or union shift bids. Work may include weekends, holidays, and overtime when required. Drivers work primarily outdoors in varying weather conditions and are exposed to extreme temperature changes and noise. The work involves frequent handling of products, equipment, and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds, standing, bending, lifting, and intermittent movement during shifts of 8 or more hours, and working at heights up to 25 feet or more depending on the aircraft.
