About The Position

The Residential Counselor provides rehabilitative support to adults in Group Living Environments (GLE), helping residents develop daily living skills and participate in their communities. The role includes teaching activities of daily living and socialization skills; implementing treatment plans and behavioral interventions under clinician guidance; administering or supervising medications in accordance with MAP guidelines; transporting residents to appointments and community activities; advocating for residents; and maintaining a safe, clean home environment with timely documentation. The schedule is 40 hours per week, Sunday through Thursday, 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. The pay range is $20 to $23.75 per hour. The position is non-exempt.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to assist with mobility, including bending and standing.
• Strong English communication skills.
• Basic computer proficiency.
• Compassion, patience, and commitment to trauma-informed care.

• Multilingual abilities, such as Spanish or Portuguese.

Responsibilities

• Provide rehabilitative support to adults in Group Living Environments, fostering daily living skills and community integration.
• Teach activities of daily living, including cooking, budgeting, and medication management, as well as socialization skills.
• Implement treatment plans and behavioral interventions under clinician guidance.
• Administer or supervise medications according to MAP guidelines and document care.
• Transport residents to appointments and community activities.
• Advocate for residents’ needs and model healthy coping strategies.
• Maintain a safe, clean home environment and complete timely documentation.
