About The Position

The Residential Counselor provides rehabilitative support to adults in Group Living Environments (GLE), helping residents develop daily living skills and integrate into the community. The role involves teaching activities of daily living and socialization skills, implementing treatment plans and behavioral interventions under clinician guidance, administering or supervising medications according to MAP guidelines, transporting residents, advocating for their needs, and maintaining a safe, clean home environment with timely documentation.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to assist with mobility, including bending and standing.
• Strong communication skills in English.
• Basic computer proficiency.
• Compassion, patience, and commitment to trauma-informed care.

Nice To Haves

• Mental health experience.
• Lived experience or multilingual abilities, such as Spanish or Portuguese.

Responsibilities

• Teach activities of daily living, including cooking, budgeting, and medication management, as well as socialization skills.
• Implement treatment plans and behavioral interventions under clinician guidance.
• Administer or supervise medications according to MAP guidelines and document care.
• Transport residents to appointments and community activities.
• Advocate for residents’ needs and model healthy coping strategies.
• Maintain a safe, clean home environment and complete timely documentation.
