Residential Counselor MAP
About The Position
BAMSI is seeking a Residential Counselor to provide rehabilitative support to adults in Group Living Environments (GLE). The role focuses on helping residents build daily living skills, increase independence, and participate in their communities. The counselor implements treatment plans and behavioral interventions under clinician guidance, supports medication administration in accordance with MAP guidelines, and advocates for residents’ needs. The schedule is 40 hours per week, Sunday through Thursday, 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. The position is non-exempt and pays $20–$21.25 per hour.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to assist with mobility, including bending and standing.
- Strong English communication skills.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Compassion, patience, and commitment to trauma-informed care.
Nice To Haves
- Mental health experience.
- Lived experience or multilingual abilities, such as Spanish or Portuguese.
Responsibilities
- Teach activities of daily living, including cooking, budgeting, and medication management, as well as socialization skills.
- Implement treatment plans and behavioral interventions under clinician guidance.
- Administer or supervise medications according to MAP guidelines and document care.
- Transport residents to appointments and community activities.
- Advocate for residents’ needs and model healthy coping strategies.
- Maintain a safe, clean home environment and complete timely documentation.
