About The Position

Project Chesapeake provides addiction treatment and behavioral health therapy for individuals with a dual diagnosis. The organization’s mission is to help individuals learn to live a positive, sober lifestyle and make changes that support successful, independent living. It is seeking a motivated, reliable, and professional part-time Residential Aide. The schedule is Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Pay is $17.00 per hour.

Requirements

Ability to observe, identify, document, and inform others about concerning physical, cognitive, or behavioral changes.
Understanding of addiction, mental health, and recovery.
Ability to maintain ethical and professional boundaries with clients and staff.
Ability to de-escalate situations.
Ability to communicate professionally and accurately.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in a behavioral health setting is a plus.
Willingness to learn about and understand ASAM criteria guidelines, Stages of Change, and 12-step recovery.

Responsibilities

Monitor all clients throughout the assigned shift.
Conduct regular rounds around the entire property.
Ensure the daily program and schedule are followed.
Assist with new intakes, room searches, and monitoring mealtimes.
Observe and document clients taking or refusing prescribed or over-the-counter medications.
Monitor and observe supervised urinalysis as needed or scheduled.
Communicate professionally with clients, staff, and supervisors.
Keep program staff informed of clients’ current challenges or behavioral issues.
Provide accurate written and verbal information during shift changes.
Attend team meetings as necessary or scheduled.
Adapt quickly to changes in schedules, routines, and work assignments.
De-escalate situations.
Maintain ethical and professional boundaries with clients and staff.
Understand and follow HIPAA guidelines and requirements at all times.
