About The Position

Project Chesapeake provides addiction treatment and behavioral health therapy for individuals with a dual diagnosis. The organization seeks a motivated, reliable, and professional part-time Residential Aide to help clients develop a positive, sober lifestyle and work toward successful, independent living. The role monitors clients during an assigned shift and supports the daily residential program. Hours are Saturday, 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Pay is $17.00 per hour.

Requirements

Ability to observe, identify, document, and inform others about concerning physical, cognitive, or behavioral changes.
Understanding of addiction, mental health, and recovery.
Ability to deescalate.
Ability to maintain ethical and professional boundaries.
Understanding of and adherence to HIPAA guidelines and requirements.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in a behavioral health setting.
Openness to learning about and understanding ASAM criteria guidelines, Stages of Change, and 12-step recovery.

Responsibilities

Monitor all clients throughout the assigned shift.
Conduct regular rounds around the entire property.
Ensure the daily program and schedule are followed.
Assist with new intakes, complete room searches, and monitor mealtimes.
Observe and document clients taking or refusing prescribed or over-the-counter medications.
Monitor and observe supervised urinalysis as needed or scheduled.
Communicate professionally with clients, staff, and supervisors.
Keep program staff informed of clients’ current challenges or behavioral issues.
Provide accurate written and verbal information during shift changes.
Attend team meetings as necessary or scheduled.
Adapt to changes in schedules, routines, and work assignments.
Deescalate situations.
Maintain ethical and professional boundaries with clients and staff.
Understand and follow HIPAA guidelines and requirements at all times.
