About The Position

Schochet is currently seeking a Resident Services Coordinator for 2 apartment communities in Rhode Island. This role involves making a difference in the lives of Seniors and Families in affordable/low-income housing by working one-on-one with residents to identify needs and coordinate services. The position also involves developing relationships with community partners to bring in programs and resources that educate and engage, and planning events that build community and promote well-being. We are accepting resumes for a Resident Services Coordinator for multiple apartment communities of independent living located in North Kingstown and Newport, Rhode Island.

Requirements

  • Team player with a BS in Social Work or related field required.
  • Experience with senior citizens & people with disabilities is required.
  • Must have valid driver’s license and own transportation to travel between properties, attend meetings and conferences when needed.

Responsibilities

  • Works as a team alongside resident services staff, property management team, residents, volunteers, and community partners.
  • Connects residents to services, including assessments, intake, and referrals to service providers in the general community (e.g., home management support, financial assistance, mental health, public benefits, food assistance).
  • Follows up on referrals from other staff regarding resident issues and concerns, often focusing on challenges related to aging in place, support for maintaining housing, conflict resolution, communication, and emergency support.
  • Establishes on-site wellness programs and events through relationships with community partners and/or by utilizing the RSC programming budget.
  • Plans events ranging from celebrations that prevent isolation and build community to lectures on health and general well-being, such as fraud prevention or computer classes.
