About The Position

The Resident Care Coordinator manages medications and provides direct care to residents according to their individual service plans. The role calls for a compassionate approach that helps create a homelike atmosphere and promotes residents’ independence. The coordinator supports medication safety and compliance, staff training and coordination, accurate documentation, and responsive resident care.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
1–2 years of experience in a senior living community.
Delegation by a Registered Nurse for medication administration.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Understanding of HIPAA requirements.

Responsibilities

Administer and manage medications as prescribed, monitor residents’ responses, and follow infection control protocols.
Orient and train new Resident Medication Aides and Resident Assistants through hands-on mentoring.
Maintain accurate resident records, documenting medication distribution, health changes, and incidents in accordance with company policies.
Coordinate with the Director of Resident Care on staffing needs, assist with recruitment, and support teamwork among staff.
Follow emergency procedures and respond promptly to resident requests for assistance.
Keep the medicine supply room and medication area organized and compliant with regulations.
Assist with staff scheduling and ensure adequate coverage under state regulations.
Conduct medication audits, ensure timely refills, and maintain inventory.
Train new staff on medication administration and facility policies.
Document shift reports and support effective communication during shift changes.
