Modern Family Law (MFL), a rapidly expanding national family law firm, is hiring 3Ls and recent graduates sitting for the February 2027 or July 2027 Bar exam for its Residency Program in Denver, Colorado Springs, or Fort Collins, Colorado. The role is hybrid, and residents must sit for the Colorado Bar; UBE score transfer is not accepted. Candidates are expected to live within a reasonable commuting distance of their office location. After taking the Bar exam, residents receive training in substantive family law and courtroom advocacy, with mentorship from MFL’s Learning & Development department and legal teams. The program is intended to support residents’ transition to an MFL Associate Attorney position after passing the Bar. Associates handle matters including divorce, child custody, and financial support, with direct client contact and case management. The role offers the opportunity to develop litigation skills and take first-chair responsibility early in a career. The firm describes its setting as remote-first, with brick-and-mortar office space available and in-person attendance as required by courts and clients. Associates have a 100-hour monthly billable-hours requirement, access to technology for caseload and communication management, ongoing learning and development support, and transparent advancement tracks and leadership opportunities. Residents are expected to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, manage multiple responsibilities with attention to detail, work respectfully as part of a team, and be eager to learn and incorporate feedback. They will complete training and develop client-conversion skills, study proactively, ask questions, complete assignments, and prepare to manage client matters from start to finish after completing the Residency. The posted salary range is $66,560–$152,200. The stated Resident salary is $66,560; the Associate Attorney starting base salary is $130,000, with total possible annual earnings of $152,200. Actual pay may vary based on experience, location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. Full-time employees are eligible for medical coverage with an optional HSA, disability insurance, dental and vision coverage, life insurance, flexible spending accounts, a 401(k), vacation, sick time, and an employee assistance program. Additional voluntary insurance programs and, in some markets, commuter and transit programs may be available. Work from anywhere is available after six months for eligible employees. Candidates and incumbents are expected to perform assigned duties with or without reasonable accommodations. Anyone requiring an accommodation should notify the Director of People Operations in advance.
