Modern Family Law (MFL), a rapidly expanding national law firm specializing in family law, is seeking 3Ls and recent graduates taking the February 2027 or July 2027 Bar exam for its MFL Academy Residency Program in an Atlanta or Savannah, Georgia office. The role is hybrid, and candidates must sit for the Bar and plan to reside in the state where they apply. After taking the Bar exam, residents receive training in substantive family law and courtroom advocacy, with mentorship from MFL’s Learning & Development department and legal teams. The program is intended to help residents transition to an Associate Attorney position after passing the Bar. The role offers direct client contact and case management on matters including divorce, child custody, and financial support, as well as opportunities to develop litigation skills and potentially serve as first chair early in a career. Associate Attorneys have a monthly billable-hours requirement of 100. The firm provides case-management and communication technology, ongoing learning and development, and transparent advancement tracks and leadership opportunities. Residents are expected to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment; work respectfully as part of a team; remain eager to learn and incorporate feedback; complete training and develop client-conversion skills; and proactively study, ask questions, complete assignments, and prepare to handle client matters from start to finish upon completing the residency. The salary range is $66,560–$110,700. The posting identifies starting compensation of $66,560 for a Resident and $104,000 for an Associate Attorney. Actual pay may vary with experience, location, and other job-related factors. Full-time employees are eligible for health insurance, with an optional HSA; short- and long-term disability; dental, vision, and life insurance; healthcare and dependent-care flexible spending accounts; a 401(k); vacation and sick time; and an employee assistance program. Additional voluntary programs include accident, life, disability, long-term care, critical illness and cancer, and pet insurance. Commuter and transit programs may be available in certain markets. Work-from-anywhere eligibility begins after six months. Candidates and incumbents are expected to perform assigned duties with or without reasonable accommodation. Candidates or incumbents needing accommodation should advise the Director of People Operations in advance.
