Modern Family Law is hiring 3Ls and recent graduates sitting for the February 2027 or July 2027 Bar exam to participate in its Residency Program in a Colorado office in Denver, Colorado Springs, or Fort Collins. The role is hybrid and requires candidates to sit for the Colorado Bar; UBE score transfer is not accepted. Residents must plan to live within a reasonable commute of their office location. After taking the Bar exam, residents join MFL for training in substantive family law and courtroom advocacy. They receive mentorship from the Learning & Development department and legal teams and are prepared to transition into an MFL Associate Attorney position upon passing the Bar. Associates handle direct client contact and case management on matters including divorce, child custody, and financial support; they can develop litigation skills and serve as first chair early in their careers. The Associate role has a low billable-hours requirement of 100 hours per month. The firm provides ongoing learning and development, transparent advancement tracks, leadership opportunities, and access to technology for caseload and communication management. The salary range is $66,560–$152,200. The stated Resident salary is $66,560. The Associate Attorney starting base salary is $130,000, with possible total annual earnings of $152,200. Actual pay may vary based on experience, location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. Full-time employees are eligible for health insurance with an optional HSA, short- and long-term disability, dental and vision insurance, life insurance, Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, a 401(k), vacation, sick time, and an employee assistance program. Additional voluntary programs include accident, life, disability, long-term care, critical illness and cancer, and pet insurance. Commuter and transit programs may be available in certain markets. The posting also lists paid public holidays, training and development, and eligibility to work from anywhere after six months. Candidates are expected to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment; collaborate respectfully in a growth-oriented team; learn, grow, practice, and incorporate feedback; complete training and develop client-conversion skills; and proactively study, build confidence, ask questions, complete assignments, and prepare to manage client matters from start to finish after the Residency. Candidates and incumbents are expected to perform assigned duties with or without reasonable accommodation. Candidates needing accommodation should advise the Director of People Operations in advance.
