About The Position

Otterbein is seeking compassionate Wellness Resident Assistants to assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs). The role provides high-quality service in a cheerful, timely manner and involves communicating, coordinating, and cooperating with others to meet residents’ needs. Resident Assistants work as Partners in Caring, supporting person-centered care that respects residents and their choices. The position is part-time, with day shifts from 8 a.m. to noon.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• First Aid course.

Nice To Haves

• Previous Nursing Assistant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide encouragement and high-quality care in a cheerful, timely manner.
• Assist residents with ADLs, including teeth care, toileting, bathing, incontinence care, and dressing, as needed and in a caring, supportive manner.
• Provide supervision, cueing, or other non-weight-bearing assistance with transfers and ambulation, as needed.
• Safely roll carts, laundry hampers, and other equipment through work and resident areas.
• Communicate, coordinate, and cooperate with residents and the team.
• Work as part of a team under the supervision and direction of the nurse in charge.
• Respond quickly to emergency calls from Independent Living residents as directed by the nurse in charge.
