Resident Assistant/Aide
About The Position
Otterbein is seeking caring and compassionate Resident Assistants to support residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and work with other Partners to enhance residents’ quality of life. The role emphasizes person-centered care that respects each resident and their choices. Resident Assistants work as part of a team under the supervision and direction of the nurse in charge, providing assistance according to each resident’s needs. Experience in a dementia or memory care setting is noted. The position is available on first- and second-shift schedules and starts at $15.00 per hour, based on experience.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- No certification required.
- Experience in a dementia or memory care setting.

Responsibilities
- Assist residents with teeth care, toileting, bathing, incontinence care, and dressing in a caring and supportive manner, as needed.
- Provide supervision, cueing, or other non-weight-bearing assistance with transfers and ambulation, as needed.
- Communicate, coordinate, and cooperate regarding resident needs and the team structure.
- Work as part of a team under the supervision and direction of the nurse in charge.
- Respond quickly to emergency calls from Independent Living residents as directed by the nurse in charge.
- Assist residents with other daily needs as necessary.
