Resident Assistant (Nurse Aide)
About The Position
Otterbein is seeking a caring and compassionate Resident Assistant to help residents with Activities of Daily Living and work alongside other Partners to enhance residents’ quality of life. The role supports person-centered care that respects each resident and their choices. Resident Assistants work as part of a team under the supervision and direction of the nurse in charge. Full-time hours are 2 p.m.–10 p.m.; part-time hours are 6 a.m.–2 p.m. or 2 p.m.–10 p.m. Starting pay is $15.00 per hour and increases with experience. No certification is required; a high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Responsibilities
- Assist residents with daily living activities, including teeth care, toileting, bathing, incontinence care, and dressing, as needed and in a caring, supportive manner.
- Provide supervision, cueing, or other non-weight-bearing assistance related to transfers and ambulation, as needed.
- Communicate, coordinate, and cooperate with residents’ needs and the team structure.
- Work as part of a team under the supervision and direction of the nurse in charge.
- Quickly respond to emergency calls from Independent Living residents as directed by the nurse in charge.
- Assist residents with other daily needs as necessary.
