About The Position
The Center for Diabetes Technology at the University of Virginia is seeking a Research Technician to assist with trials centering around diabetes. Shifts will be variable in time and location and may include weekend, evening, or daytime hours. Most shifts will involve patient contact. Incumbent must be able to follow HIPAA guidelines regarding patient health information and be reliable and detail oriented.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- At least 1 year of lab experience, which may include student experience required.
- Experience with Windows.
- Ability to learn and troubleshoot new technology.
- HIPAA guidelines regarding patient health information.
- Reliable and detail oriented.
Nice To Haves
- Understanding of Android and Apple cell phones and Bluetooth technology.
- Prior experience working in a laboratory or with participant-facing work.
- CPR, CITI, and Bloodborne pathogen training.
Responsibilities
- Monitoring and troubleshooting a computer system, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Android phone during a clinical trial.
- Data maintenance, which may involve compiling, coding, categorizing, and storing data in an electronic format.
- Handling and processing lab specimens.
- Organizing, setting up, and cleaning study devices.
