About The Position

Pape’ Material Handling is seeking a Rental Fleet Coordinator / Dispatcher for its Southern California region. The role is a dynamic, multifaceted position serving as the primary customer contact for equipment rentals and helping ensure a positive rental experience. The coordinator manages inbound rental, service, and sales inquiries by phone and in person; provides customer service; processes orders; and records daily activity to support timely follow-up. The role also assists with transportation logistics, including generating logistics tickets, providing transportation quotes, and, when the dispatcher is absent, dispatching transport trucks, ordering permits, updating the tracking system, uploading completed shippers, and handling daily transportation billing. Pape’ offers training and mentoring, competitive compensation, benefits, and opportunities for advancement. Compensation is $24.94–$36.16 per hour, depending on experience. Candidates must successfully pass a pre-employment drug test.

Requirements

• Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, and the ability to learn internal computer systems.
• Excellent communication and customer relations skills.
• Extensive knowledge of the rental equipment industry.
• Logistics knowledge.
• Ability to thrive in a team environment.
• Detail-oriented, able to work at a fast pace, and have a winning attitude.
• Successfully pass a pre-employment drug test.

Responsibilities

• Manage inbound rental, service, and sales business by phone and in person.
• Provide outstanding customer service as the primary point of contact for rental customers.
• Process customer orders accurately and efficiently.
• Record daily activity in detail to ensure timely follow-up on future customer requests.
• Assist the dispatcher with generating logistics tickets in the rental system.
• Provide transportation quotes.
• In the dispatcher’s absence, dispatch transport trucks, order transport permits, update the tracking system with transport status, and upload completed shippers.
• Handle daily transportation billing.
