About The Position

Tates Rents is hiring a Rental Consultant to welcome customers, support equipment rentals, and help create positive customer experiences. The role includes demonstrating equipment, assisting with loading and unloading, maintaining the equipment yard and work areas, checking and cleaning returned equipment, and performing minor maintenance. Rental Consultants follow company safety procedures and accurately interpret rental contracts. The position involves work both indoors and outdoors and may include heavy physical work, noise, and exposure to workplace hazards.

Requirements

• Ability to use mathematics to solve problems.
• Ability to speak English clearly and write legibly.
• Must pass a company drug screen.
• Valid driver’s license; applicants must be at least 21 years old for driving positions.

• High school diploma or GED; preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers promptly and resolve customer problems.
• Fill propane tanks and keep the showroom, trucks, and work areas clean.
• Demonstrate equipment features to customers and assist with loading and unloading equipment.
• Organize and maintain the equipment yard to promote safety and efficiency.
• Perform quality control checks to ensure equipment is safe, clean, and in good working condition.
• Inspect returned equipment for fuel levels, operating hours, wear, or damage.
• Wash and clean returned equipment so it is ready for the next rental.
• Perform minor maintenance and coordinate more extensive repairs with mechanics.
• Maintain a positive, customer-first attitude and deliver outstanding service.
• Understand and accurately interpret rental contracts.
• Follow company protocols and procedures with a strong focus on personal and team safety.
• Perform other duties as requested.
