About The Position

The Rental Associate serves as the face of Guitar Center in the store, greeting customers, identifying their needs, recommending suitable products, and working to close sales. The role supports Guitar Center’s mission to help people experience the joy of creating music and contributes to an inclusive, customer-first environment.

The associate maintains the cleanliness and organization of the rentals department, builds customer relationships to encourage repeat business and meet future service needs, and contacts local vendors and companies by phone and email to support business needs. They work toward service sales targets, demonstrate product and service knowledge, and collaborate with sales associates to help customers through the sales process. Additional duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• Previous experience in retail operations and/or sales, or previous experience within a rental business.
• Strong orientation toward providing excellent customer service.
• Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail.
• Ability to pull and lift gear weighing up to 40 lbs.
• Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Ability to communicate clearly, positively, and courteously with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to work through Guitar Center’s certification program to gain a base understanding of products and sales techniques.

Nice To Haves

• Intermediate knowledge of musical instruments sold at Guitar Center, such as guitars, drums, and tech equipment.
• Previous experience with live sound and backline.
